Liturgical Ministries

Altar Guild
The Altar Guild’s goal is to help create a sacred orderly space for worship, assisting at each service by preparing the altar with the elements of worship. The Guild maintains the linens, silver, candles, and other materials, and also assists at weddings, funerals, and baptisms.

The Guild has three teams consisting of three to four members each and meets several times each year for informational updates, training, and fellowship. Each team serves every three weeks, and the Guild comes together for workdays preceding the major feasts of Easter and Christmas to keep the silver and brass gleaming and to adorn the church. For more information or to get involved, please contact Margaret Stretton or the Parish Office.

Please contact us if you wish to donate Sunday flowers in memory of a loved one or in honor of a special occasion.

Acolytes
Acolytes assist the celebrant at the altar, they lead processions into and out of the liturgy, and they lead processions into the congregation at the reading of the Gospel. They may also assist at other special liturgies as needed. This ministry is open to all church members age seven and older.

Eucharistic Ministers & Eucharistic Visitors
Eucharistic ministers are involved in serving the Eucharist during services. Eucharistic visitors bring the Sacrament to people in their homes or assisted living facilities. This ministry directly connects the worshiping members in attendance at the service with those who are absent.

Readers
Lectors (readers) assist in the liturgy by reading the Holy Scriptures aloud and by leading the Prayers of the People. Please contact Deacon Jan Gockerman or the Parish Office if you would like to assist.

Ushers and Greeters
Ushers and greeters welcome worshipers to the Services, distribute programs, and greet members and visitors after the services. Please contact Tom Burr, Tom Walker, or the Parish Office for more information.
