Christian Formation - Grand Rapids Episcopal Youth
Grand Rapids Episcopal Youth: G.R.E.Y
G.R.E.Y. is a joint youth program between St. Mark’s and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Churches for 6th-12th grade youth, which also welcomes youth from other Episcopal churches in the Greater Grand Rapids area. We strive to connect the youth of our diocese to each other, our communities, and Christ through weekly formation, monthly social events and outreach activities. We serve breakfast every fourth Sunday to our neighbors at the St. Mark’s Breakfast Cafe, volunteer at Soup’s on For All, and Family Promise, participate in Access of West Michigan’s Hunger Walk, go to movies, attend the Episcopal Youth Event (EYE), and visit fun places like Cedar Point and Craig’s Cruisers.
Here's what's ahead:
Wednesday Night Virtual Youth Group
I am happy to say youth group is back! We took a break and are ready to be back in full swing Wednesday, July 15, at 6:30! Middle and high schoolers are all invited and you can join us for all or part of our time together. (Those going into middle school in the fall and those who have just graduated high school this year are welcome, too.) Our gathering includes time for prayer, games, formation, discussion, and sharing. We conclude by 8:30.

I hope to see you then!
Also, I am working on some other things with some youth ministry colleagues that we are excited to bring to you since we can't do our usual camps, events. and mission trips. The first one, Compassion Camp, is coming up in two weeks, please read more below.
CAMP AT HOME
Beginning the Week of July 26th at Home and Online
While we're not able to come together for onsite summer camp in Eastern or Western Michigan, we want to bring a little slice of camp to you!
Camp at Home is a five-week virtual camp program that brings some of the great things about camp (nature, games, crafts, worship) to your home. All participants will receive a box overflowing with some very important camp gear and activities to explore.
Additionally, each week via Zoom join your favorite camp staff and volunteers for projects, songs, and activities geared around our summer theme, "Compassion Camp".
Camp at Home is open to all within and outside of our two dioceses. Participants do not need to be Episcopalian.
Check out this video for more information:
Each week of our five-week program, beginning the week of July 26th, will include two scheduled Zoom Calls - one offered on Tuesday mornings at 11 am and one offered on Thursday evenings at 6 pm. Both meetings offer the same content and participants are invited to pick one, attend both, or skip both! The Zoom calls are flexible and optional, meaning - if you're totally Zoom-ed out and on screen-overload, we get it.
The cost to participate in Camp at Home is "pay what you can" with a suggested contribution of $25 per child. Signing up to participate will include the mailed activity box, access to weekly sessions, and other password-protected curriculum materials.
Please contact McKenzie at email@example.com to inquire about church sponsorships.
