Dr. Gregory Crowell

Music Director

Gregory Crowell serves as Director of Music at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and as University Organist and Senior Affiliate Professor of Music at Grand Valley State University. Dr. Crowell holds degrees from the New England Conservatory and the University of Cincinnati, and has studied at the North German Organ Academy. He has performed widely in Europe, Japan, Canada, and the United States as conductor, organist, harpsichordist, and clavichordist. He has been heard in live performance on WCRB in Boston, WGUC in Cincinnati, WFMT Chicago, Northwest German Radio, Belgian Public Radio, and NPM’s Pipedreams, and has recorded for the OHS and OgeeOgress labels.

Mike Armour

Operations Manager

Mike is an active St. Mark's parishioner, former member of the Vestry and Property Committee and long-time handyman for the church. In his staff role, he oversees all of St. Mark's events and operations, coordinates work to the facilities and develops the staff sextons and volunteer capacity.

Director of Children's Ministry

Evan develops the curriculum for and oversees St. Mark's Nursery Care and Children's Ministry. Evan, his wife McKenzie and their young daughter spend the summer running Camp Chickagami on beautiful Presque Isle.

Pam Stevenson

Financial Manager

Pam Stevenson joined our Ministry Support Team in 2003 and is our Financial Manager.  Pam is responsible for overseeing the churches financial matters as well as handling other church related business.  As if being a finance and math whiz for over 35 years weren’t enough, Pam attended Davenport University, where she was on the Dean’s list.  She likes wearing a radiant smile, even when things go awry, as they sometimes do, when running lengthy month-end reports.  Pam is a native of West Michigan, and lives with her husband Kevin and daughter Marissa in Comstock Park.  In her spare time, she loves to relax with a glass of Moscato, and loves volunteering for her family’s business, Palermo Pizza in Comstock Park.

Administrative Associate

Kate serves as our front desk welcome party. Don't hesitate to reach out to her! Her responsibilities at St. Mark's include the front office, church calendar, e-news, and the Sunday Service bulletin.  Kate is also glad to connect you with engaging volunteer opportunities and community activities. She, her spouse Steve, and their young twins are active Grand Rapids residents in the Fulton Heights neighborhood. Kate is also an MFA poet and a painter. She brings her experience as a former university-level educator and an assets-based community development professional, as well as a big bucket of enthusiasm for learning new things.

Jeff Brown

Director of Youth Ministry

Jeff Brown manages Grand Rapids Episcopal Youth (G.R.E.Y.), a joint youth ministry between St. Mark's and St. Andrew's Episcopal Churches for youth from 6th to 12th grades.  Jeff lives with his wife Angie in Grand Rapids, and they have two sons in college. Jeff also works as Retail Marketing Coordinator for Gazelle Sports, is a certified yoga instructor, and loves trail running, coaching cross country runners, and is quite obsessed with Cedar Point.
