Children's Faith Formation
Children are a vital part of the St. Mark's family! We offer a variety of programs for children from infancy through high school so that they may grow in faith and lead us by example. At St. Mark's, our goal is to guide our children in knowing God's love and relating our faith journey to everyday life.

Our volunteers undergo “Safeguarding God’s Children” training and a background check. Your child’s safety is our number one priority.
Looking for ways to help?
Children's formation is always in need of volunteers! Contact Laura Kozminski (firstname.lastname@example.org) for information.
If you can't volunteer, you can also support our program with items from our Amazon Wishlist. These items will help us with our many art projects, develop a playful outdoor space for the summer months, and give our infants and toddlers a more engaging place to play. Thank you!
9:30 Faith Formation (4th through 12th Grades) – 3rd Floor
Children in 4th-6th Grades meet together with the Children’s Formation Director, Laura Kozminski, to build faith, have fun and form lasting friendships. This group uses the Episcopal Children’s Curriculum created by the Virginia Theological Seminary. Children learn to read the Bible, discuss it’s meaning and connect it to their lives.
Youth in 7th-12th Grades meet together with the Youth Director, Jeff Brown, for weekly Bible studies that utilize the Faith Lens curriculum. They connect world events with the Bible, faith, and everyday life.
Sibling childcare is also offered during this time for younger siblings.
All activities are on the 3rd floor. Please sign-in your child.
10:30 Nursery & Children’s Chapel – Basement
Nursery (ages 0-2)
Nursery care is offered every Sunday throughout the 10:30 service. The Nursery is located downstairs and is staffed by our trained caregivers. It is vital that children are signed in and out by parents or guardians.
Children’s Chapel (ages 3 through 3rd Grade)
Children’s Chapel is a joyful opportunity for children to interact with Bible stories in a hands-on way. Activities, play and storytelling are all focused on understanding the language and rhythms of our church. Children are divided into two groups: a Pre-K/ Kindergarten group and a 1st-3rd Grade group. They are escorted back to the service after “the peace,” when they join parents or guardians in the pew for Communion.
To participate in Sunday Faith Formation, all children must have an Information Form on file.
We offer a number of other faith formation opportunities throughout the year. Please email the director, Laura Kozminski to get on our listserv so you never miss the fun!
